The painting refers to the mythology of ancient Greece and the story of an extremely talented weaver. In pursuit of her ambition, Arachne chased perfection.
After an inconclusive duel with the goddess Athena, she was reborn in the body of a spider to weave her intricate webs. The mad pursuit always leads to madness.
The painting was done with acrylic paints. During the painting, instead of water, polyurethane and acrylic lacquers were used, so that the resulting layers retained their durability and transparency. The massive panel is a solid a solid base for painting. The painting is covered with multiple layers polyurethane varnish of high quality. The back of the board has also been protected.
